Demo & Industry Track
The goal of the Demo and Industry Track is to bridge the gap between research and industry by showcasing demonstrations of innovative multimedia concepts. Researchers and industry partners will have the opportunity to share their prototypes and proof-of-concepts with MMSys attendees.
We encourage innovative demo and proof-of-concept proposals. Submissions are encouraged in all areas related to multimedia systems, as advertised in the general call for MMSys. The demo paper should be up to six pages plus references, in MMSys regular paper format. Researchers are also encouraged to submit demo proposals that supplement their accepted regular/workshop papers and have a chance to showcase the technical aspects of their work through a demo.
All submissions will be peer-reviewed and selection will be based on the novelty of the research, impact from industry perspective and interestingness of the demonstration. Authors should address the following questions in their submission:
- What is the scientific or engineering concept behind this work that is beyond the existing systems?
- What is the novelty and significance of the work and how will it impact the audience?
- What will be actually shown during the demo?
We also encourage demo and insutry proposals to include a short video showcasing the work. Including a video will help the committee better understand and evaluate the proposals.
Finally, demo and industry proposers are encouraged to submit their source code and/or dataset to the Open Dataset and Software track.
For the accepted demos, at the conference we will provide a table, power outlet (110V), and shared WiFi. Any other equipment required for the demo should be brought by the presenters themselves. If you have special requests such as a larger space, special lighting conditions, and so on, please indicate this separately to the Demo Chairs, who will investigate whether your requests can be accommodated. Accepted demo papers will be published in the ACM DL.
